Self penned tunes and covers from this new band featuring Nick Atkinson-guitars, Alex Henderson-bass, John Waterson-drums. Their compositions strongly reflect their musical influences which range from Stevie Wonder, Jaco, Foo Fighters, Faithless and The Grimethorpe Colliery Band. Jan. 13th THE TRIO Initially inspired by the Oscar Peterson trio featuring Herb Ellis and Ray Brown. Tightly arranged swing and Bebop from this virtuoso band. Straight ahead Swing and Bebop featuring Adrian Ingram, Chris Walker and Jamie Taylor on guitars with rhythm section support from Nicola Farnon-Bass and Phil Johnson-Drums. Feb. 3rd CENTRE-LINE www.myspace.com/centrelinemusic The Contemporary British Jazz Group Centre-Line was established by Russell van den Berg (Sax and EWI) and Darren Altman (Drums) in 2006. Born out of their long ongoing friendship and musical bond, it brings together the talents of the fearless guitarist Jez Franks, creative and constantly searching pianist Simon Colam and the ever- grooving bassist Jon Harvey.

Danish singer Cat Leghard continues to wow audiences world wide with her charming interpretation of the jazz standard repertoire. Jonas Backman-drums, To be confirmed-bass, Feb. 24th RONNIE BOTTOMLEYS JAZZ ORCHESTRA £5/£4 Ronnies arranging talents are at the fore with the Lescar Debut of his Jazz Orchestra. A full 18 piece Big Band featuring the North of Englands finest musicians. March 3rd JUCAMAYA www.jucamaya.com Jucamaya is a contemporary jazz quintet based in the midlands. There tunes are melodic, memorable and stylish, modern but in tune with the jazz tradition. Pianist Graham Dent composes most of the music, but the band also take pleasure in dipping into the established jazz standards repertoire. Ian Hill-sax, Richard Baker -trombone, and the rhythm section is completed by Tom Bull -double bass, and Steve Laffy (or Nick Millward) -drums. March 10th SARAH MITCHELL QUARTET A big personality with a big voice to match. And shes from Yorkshire How could Sir Michael Parkinson not be on her side! Sarah Mitchell is a star in the making. Tonight we present two of the great bands that have benefited from this support. Details coming soon! March 24th FRUIT TREE PROJECT Their unique sound formed through the natural convergence of Jazz, Funk, Folk and a bloody good beat. Their music has, of course, the blinding improvised solos but frames them in well constructed song like forms resulting in wonderfully arranged and textured sounds which at times are edgy and free but also reflective and lyrical.
